Awe and Cause ~ 12 Sep 2014

Presently Earth is between two large blasts of solar energy as a result of recent solar activity. Those in extreme northern latitudes enjoy the dancing auroras, while even as far south as Arizona, hints of pink under Ursa Major highlights the night sky. Truly, such displays are awesome. Should you not be in a region where you can see the auroras, one of my favorite websites, SpaceWeather.com, picks some amazing photographs for your viewing perusal.

While a breath-taking reaction may result when viewing such heavenly splendor, remember to breathe! When the highly charged particles of the Coronal Mass Ejections reach Earth, they mess with satellite connectivity, and all the downline factors such as the broadcast of critical sports events and news headlines, movie streaming, Internet, cell phones, power grids and oh yeah, chakra alignments.

Remember to stay centered. These solar blasts tend to provoke irritation and a collective crankiness. So, when feeling over the top reactions to the circumstances of life, step back as you can. Count to ten, hide in the bathroom at work for a quickie meditation, walk in nature, and ultimately remain in awe of this amazing universe of ours.

“Now, given we’re all chock full of awe,” asks Mars just about ready to migrate into high-minded Sagittarius, “shouldn’t you be doing something with your highfalutin ideas? After all, if you took some of the excess energy rendered by CME storms, couldn’t that be used as motivations for a cause of some sort?”

About a week ago, one of our new planets, Makemake, dipped into Libra for the second time. He will back out and go through a final Virgo check list next May. And come July of next year, he’s back in Libra to stay until 2047.

Makemake was the primary deity on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). This isolated island is five hours west of Chile by jet, and to the locals, is the navel of the Universe. Remarkably, the island lies very close to spot on below the Galactic Center. Awesome.

Being isolated from the rest of the planet (until the explorers arrived, one Easter day), Rapa Nuians ate what they could grow, fish they could catch from the sea, or eggs they could capture from birds nests. That was it. Resource consciousness, conservation issues and ecological matters remained a top priority - or should have remained a top priority. In Kevin Costner’s movie, Rapa Nui, a total box office bomb, but an evocative film, it was portrayed that the locals chopped down all their trees to use them as rollers such that large carved stones could be transported into iconic positions to please the gods. All this while the gods were screaming, “Save some damn trees, you guys!”

This week I attended an event at the University of Arizona sponsored by the Center for Biological Diversity (BiologicalDiversity.org). Its gist was overpowering, intense, scary, and fraught with urgency. The planet is in trouble. Pick a topic: the extinction of animal species, sustainability in fishing, over population, methane gas from animal (food) production, electronic device dumping, overpopulation. There’s a topic that will line up with your theology, politics, humanitarianism and karmic reason for incarnation. Depending upon your theology and views of other races and cultures - as brilliantly displayed by some yahoo during the question and answer session - some of these issues may offend your cultural upbringing, social sensibilities and religious views.

Still, the bottom line: our planet and its resources are in trouble. Makemake, now in Libra, demands the interaction (you know, Libran relationship) of every person on the planet. Here’s one concept presented during the aforementioned event: if every procreating couple voluntarily agreed to have no more than two children, in one hundred years, the world’s population would decrease its exponential upswing and the planet would almost be back in the realm of sustainability for all. There are still matters of excessive consumerism and pollution to address, but it’s a start.

I have heard some people say that they’ll be off the planet before things get really bad. Yeah, but what if you have to return to Earth in a future incarnation? The suggestion of Makemake in Libra seems to be: “Yep, Earth and her resources dwindle at a rate incongruent with the increase in humans.” And adds Makemake, “Don’t get me started on climate change.”

“So, inhabitants of Earth,” says Makemake, “What’s your deal? Are you hyper with all the excess solar energy? Pick a cause. Any cause. Feel the awe of the sky above. Let the awe fill you with respect for Creation. Then, pick a good deed to pursue on behalf of the planet and for the sake of your karma.

Now should all that feel a bit lofty, spend some time with Mars in Sag to recheck the facts you carry in your cranium as gospel. There’s nothing better than a refreshed, improved view of all the great things that contribute to your personal belief system(s)! That way, one may proceed in life more confident than ever that the beliefs are intact and right.

More soon.
